After studying economics, Frédéric Loiseau, born in Tours in 1964, pursued serious musical studies at the “Guitar Institute of Technology” in Los Angeles with prestigious specialists such as Joe Pass and Joe Diorio. Back in France in 1989, he embarked on the profession while perfecting his art with Dave Liebman, John Abecrcrombie etc … From that time, he also taught in turn, notably at the Didier Lockwood Music Center as well as in several conservatories and conducts introductory jazz courses for classical musicians.
In 2007, he made his first record under his name with pianist Carl Schroeder (Sinatra’s traveling companion, Sarah Vaughan) This album “Red Shoes” was enthusiastically received by the media: record of emotion in Jazz Magazine, CD of the week on Fip, Must on Tsf, favorite of the Charles Cros Academy, nomination for the Django sd or guitar award with Christian Escoudé and Louis Winsberg.
Currently apart from his “free lance” activity in various contexts, Frédéric Loiseau is a member of the “Pee Bee”, a collective based in Antony (Cd Welcome to the PB published in 2010 and All Of Us 13 in 2013) and participates in the Chamber Jazz Quintet with Claude Carriere at the piano. Their first CD “Looking Back” was released under the Black and Blue label in 2010, the second “For All We Know” in 2013 with André Villéger as a guest.
Second opus under his name “Smile” in trio with Benoit Sourisse on organ and André Charlier on drums, released in November 2014.
