Christian Brenner began studying classical piano at the age of 5, with Edith Hiltbrand-Andrade, concertist and professor at the Geneva Conservatory. His professional experience will lead him to world music (salsa, afro funk, French song and international music. He mainly devotes himself to jazz from the 90s and will follow 2 professional courses at the IACP, founded by Alan SILVA. 3 CDs under his name and more than 3,000 concerts in festivals and jazz clubs in France, Asia (China, Cambodia) and Brazil. Christian Brenner is the pianist, designer and artistic director of a major Parisian jazz venue: the Café Laurent, who always plays there in the company of the best French and European soloists. This concert café, located on the site of the legendary Tabou, revives and continues a certain tradition of French jazz in St Germain des Prés.

« Situated on the ground floor of the elegant Hotel d’Aubusson, the Café Laurent jazz club lies at the heart of Paris’ 6th arrondissement, at the junction of Rue Dauphine and Rue Christine. Four nights a week there, the French pianist Christian Brenner leads a trio and invites a wide range of first-class guest vocalists and instrumentalists to play at what is undoubtedly the best regular jazz gig in the city of light. It’s over a decade since I first went to Café Laurent and I’ve yet to hear music that didn’t send me out into the Paris night with a smile on my face.
There’s a strong sense of jazz history in the area. »

« Des musiciens très doués mais qui jouent sans aucune esbroufe, ’ensemble se montre alors capable d’envolées énergiques et d’un groove soutenu, bien appuyés par un batteur à la gestuelle très marquée. »

« Brenner has resonances of Evans and Brubeck in his playing, yet in indisputably his own man. His style crackles and sings, and he has major gifts as an arranger too : his répertoire is prodigious, and brings to each tune an individual, discerning craft. »
