ABOUT

Philippe Aerts, double bass player born in Brussels, Belgium in 1964.
He has been performing for many years with Philip Catherine, Nathalie Loriers, Ivan
Paduart, Bert Joris, Richard Galliano, Enrico Pieranunzi, and has performed with many
musicians visiting Europe: Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Tom Harrell, Joe Henderson and many others. He lived in New York City from 1997 to 2000 and performed there with the Toshiko Akiyoshi jazz Orchestra, with Lew Tabackin, David Hazeltine, Mike LeDonne, Joe Magnarelli etc.

Teaches double bass at the Maastricht Conservatory from 2011 to 2016.
Philippe has lived in Paris since 2017 where he regularly performs in duet with the singer
Raphaëlle Brochet. He also plays with Sophie Alour, Florin Niculescu, Fred Nardin, Alain Jean Marie, Sylvain Beuf, and many others …
